Categories : Exhibitions and Museums, published on : 3/12/17
Fashion photography exhibition in Paris , Papier Glace, pays homage to the works of some of the world's most significant fashion photographers. Photographs displayed in the exhibition, have graced the pages of iconic magazines, like Vogue, Glamour and Vanity Fair; all edited by publishing conglomerate Conde Nast. The event is being held at Palais Galliera, in the Musee de la Mode and runs until May 25. We, at the Hotel Marais Bastille, highly recommend this outstanding exhibition.
Fashion Photography Exhibition in Paris : a visual celebration
The Papier Glace exhibition is a celebratory event, highlighting the earliest works of 90 of the most notable fashion photographers. The first photographer to have photos published in a Conde Nast publication was Baron Adolf de Meyer. Photographers following him, included Edward Steichen, Horst P. Horst and Erwin Blumenfield. A host of other trailblazers continued paving the way with striking works. The 1950s ushered in photographers like David Bailey and Helmut Newton, who both made a huge impact on the world of fashion.
150 pieces, consisting mainly of prints, present a century of works, categorised by way of themes. Elegant interiors, surrealist games, visual experiments, glorified bodies and portraits, are subjects explored in the exhibition. Displays captivate, while provoking thought and images are juxtaposed with haute couture pieces, from various collections.
Electronic screens, displaying 50 pages of exceptional features, from Conde Nast publications, are also available to look through.

Our location is central, which of course makes it a perfect choice for those attending Papier Glace. We're also located near the Place de la Bastille, which is a cultural hub and home to the famous Opera Bastille, a selection of art galleries, restaurants, clubs and bars.
