Take the time to visit the Pompidou Centre, an irreplaceable and essential Parisian institution.

Two enthralling exhibitions this summer at the Pompidou Centre

This summer, the Pompidou Centre is offering two exciting exhibitions. The first is devoted to the contemporary Japanese artist and experimental electronic musician Ryoji Ikeda, who uses sound, light and data as his raw materials to create amazing geometric and technological installations that pulse with compelling soundscapes. The second offers a panorama of a little-explored mid-20th century movement, the Union of Modern Artists, which brought together visual artists, designers and architects who wished to change perceptions of life and beauty through their work. Among their number were major creators such as Le Corbusier, Mallet-Stevens and Prouvé.

The Pompidou Centre; a place so intensely alive

A real landmark for culture lovers, the Pompidou Centre is the kind of place that should be experienced to the fullest. There is a huge library where students flock, a bookstore with an extremely large selection, a café where you can grab a snack amidst your cultural explorations and a shop that sells quality souvenirs and gifts. There are also many shows presented regularly at the Pompidou Centre, particularly in the areas of contemporary dance, performance and music.

Georges; the most beautiful terrace in Paris

On the roof of the Pompidou Centre you will find the most beautiful terrace in the city, commanding a panoramic and breathtaking view of the capital’s great monuments and buildings and its rooftop landscapes of zinc and slate. Here you can sip a refreshing drink while admiring the sunset over the city. Elegant, and decorated in a minimalist and chic way, the Georges is also a restaurant where you will enjoy a refined cuisine. Offering the perfect end to an afternoon of browsing the Pompidou Centre's exhibitions and its permanent collections, the Georges is a place apart, combining hints of magic, romance and serenity.
