A new branch - Café Pouchkine Place des Vosges

For fabulous French pastries with a Russian twist, try Café Pouchkine. Following the success of the magnificent branch in the upmarket Printemps department store a second branch of Café Pouchkine is now open at Place des Vosges, and its the perfect place for a special treat on your next stay in Paris. 

What makes Café Pouchkine stand out? After all, in Paris there are plenty of gourmet pastry shops, and they're all amazing. However, its the emphasis on tradition and luxury and the Franco-Russian heritage that sets Café Pouchkine apart. Exquisite pastries, macaroons and gateaux are works of art and they're displayed like precious jewels in glass cases rich with golden baroque embellishment, just waiting for you to come along. Many of the ingredients are sourced from Russia, where Café Pouchkine has been a Moscow institution since Andrey Dellos founded it in 1999 after being inspired by a song.

Russian fromage blanc is used in delicious cheesecakes, while buckwheat flour and kvass are ingredients in some of the cakes.

There is a great selection of savoury treats as well as the superb cakes and pastries. Try blinis and caviar, or be tempted by mushroom or pickled vegetable perogies. Drink delicate flavoured teas, kvass the drink made from fermented rye bread or hot chocolate served in antique chocolatières.

The new Café Pouchkine at Place des Vosges is an excellent choice for a morning break when shopping, a special lunch or a mid-afternoon treat.
